New Mexico 4-H

J'Nae here! Reporting from Albuquerque, New Mexico, with some of the best 4-H people in New Mexico! The New Mexico State 4-H Officer team and Ambassador Randy Woodall were in New
Mexico's state capital of Santa Fe. We were able to visit the Round House, be recognized on the House and Senate Floors, meet with Governor Martinez, and were honored with January 24, 2011, set as New Mexico's 4-H Day in honor of our centennial anniversary!

Want to know more? Here is a little on New Mexico 4-H History:
The beginning of 4-H club work in New Mexico dates back to 1912. In January of that year, the New Mexico Agricultural College and the Santa Fe railway ran an agricultural train
on all parts of the Santa Fe Railway system in the state.
The train carried livestock and farm exhibits, and educational talks were given by specialists of
the Agricultural College. Special meetings were held for young people in which boys' and girls' club work was discussed and organized. In 1913, the same general plan was followed with an agricultural train run in cooperation with the El Paso and Southwestern Railway.
As a result, several boys' and girls' clubs were organized in eastern New Mexico.
With the passage of the Smith-Lever Act in 1914, and the permanent establishment of Cooperative Extension in New Mexico, more concentrated club work followed. Under the stress of the war emergency in 1918, the state enrollment in 4-H clubs reached 4,181 members.
By 1921, it was evident that club work was one of the most effective means of introducing better livestock into the state, since larger numbers of high grade pigs, beef, dairy calves, and poultry were being produced in club projects each year. Also the introduction of pure seed and seed treatment, to prevent disease, were stimulated through club activities.
In 1930 and 1931, club terracing demonstration contests created widespread interest in soil erosion control. Local volunteer 4-H leaders were invited to become involved by Extension workers to aid in the club program. Leader training meetings began in 1924 and have been held as an important component of 4-H programming ever since.
Today, 4-H projects are offered in creative arts, health and nutrition, natural science, plants and animals, communications, and many more areas! 4-H reaches youth in urban, suburban, and rural communities throughout New Mexico.

New Start

I can't believe how close graduation is coming, but all I can think of is the new start it will bring in college. I have shared so many memories with so many people. Some people are ment to stay in your life forever, and some are just there to make an appearence.
To my Lord and Savior:
You really do cary me through the hard times. I always know when people aren't there to catch me, you will be. You love me unconditionaly, you are so forgiving and full of grace! I love you more than anything, just as you love me.
To my Youth Group:
So many people, so many lessons, so many memories. I love you all and I can continue living my life better each day through the lessons I've learned. Jason Price, you are like a father figure to me. You have always been there for a shoulder for me to cry on, through the best days of my life, and through all the little pittiful high school drama. You, like so many others, have helped me become who I am and I know I can always count on you. I love you Jason! and Thank You for everything!
To my Friends:
I could never have done anything without you. I had to learn who I was, but I'm so glad I had you all to help me along the way.
To my Family:
Talk about the up's and down's of life! You have all had a great influence on me and I couldn't thank you enough.
Momma: I couldn't ask for a better friend of role model. You have been there for me through thick and thin and through the fights and sob fests. I will always love you and always need you there. When I think about leaving home, I don't miss what I will be leaving behing, I'll only miss you.
TJ: You are deffinately one of the big brother stereo types. You look out for me, even when I don't want you too. You have always achieved so much and done so many great things, I look up to you for everything you represent and for the man you are. You are the best big brother a girl could ask for.
John: Honey, I love you. You have been there to catch me when I felt I couldn't even catch myself. 8 and 1/2 months, and a life time to go. I know we will continue to have many more memories, and I will treasure the memories we have already made for the rest of my life.
To my FFA Chapter:
You are part of who I am, and you are what formed me to be the person and individual I am today. Mr. Proctor, you have been one of the greatest mentors to me. You have pushed me to do things even when I was acting like a stubborn mule. The laughters, the fights, the trips, and the trophies, none of it would have been the same without you right there by my side. I could never have asked for a better advisor!
To my 4-H Club:
I don't even know where to start. I have so much to thank about my 4-H club and the people in it. All the members, all the adults, and all the wonderful leaders. You have held my hand, sent me prayers, and supported me through every decision I have made. You have all always been there to pick up my slack, and tell me when I was slacking. Michelle Stearns, you are like my other mother. You have yelled at me, and given me a place to rest my head when things went bad. I could never sum up just how much you mean to me through just simple words, and actions can only pay you back for half of what you've done for me.
New Mexico 4-H:
Thank you so much for giving me the oportunity to serve as your New Mexico State Secretary. Everything I have been able to do and all the more, how much I will be able to do. I can't wait to serve you more throughout the year! And when my term comes to an end, I will be very sad, but will remember you for forever!

Well, this is just the start for the blog. Just a few thanks out, only putting a dent into how many people I realy should thank.
Heading Out for Now,
-J'Nae, The Outlaw Lady
